Booster Pump Replacement In Afonwen, Wales.

JN Environmental attended site to service the filtration equipment from the Private Water Supply at this cottage in Afonwen, Wales.

Whilst servicing the booster pump we noticed the pump was under performing and was struggling to reach it's of pressure. The bag in the pressure vessel had also ruptured. 

The original booster pump had been under specified for the size of the property it had to serve. The original installer had simply put in a larger pressure vessel to compensate for this which also put more wear and tear onto the booster pump.

The flow rate was that bad they couldn't have a shower and run a tap at the same time.

We returned to site, removed the old pump & pressure vessel. We fitted a new DAB E.Sybox mini booster pump which delivered a much better flow rate and is more economical to run.

Borehole Pump Replacement in Ayrshire, Scotland.

The water supply at a private residence in Ayrshire was supplied by a borehole. The motor on the pump had failed due to the age of the pump.

We attended site and electrically tested the pump and the power cable. The borehole pump was down in the ground on 25mm MDPE pipework at a level of 45 meters. The borehole pump was extracted and replaced along with the pressure switch, power cable and new pipework all within one afternoon.

After the borehole stopped working the customer at this cottage in Lanarkshire phoned the experts at JN Environmental.

JN Environmental attended site to fault find any electrical faults on the borehole pump, the insulation tester showed a motor fault on the pump. We returned to site and extracted the borehole pump which was at a depth of 79 meters. We replaced the borehole pump, power cable, pressure vessel, pressure switch and borehole control box.

Borehole Pump Maintenance in Kirkby-in-Furness, Cumbria.

JN Environmental attended site to investigate a potential water supply yield issue from the borehole at this property in Kirkby-in-Furness.

A full yield test was undertaken but it was discovered that the capacitor was sending too many volts to the pump and causing it to trip the overload switch. Unfortunately this had a detrimental effect on the borehole pump and after an insulation test all cores failed indicating there was a fault on the pump motor.

The pump was extracted so that the heatshrink joint and the pump itself could be inspected and a new borehole pump fitted.

The water supply at a private residence and stables in Todmorden was supplied by a borehole. The motor on the pump had failed - most likely due to the age of the pump.

We attended site and carried out an insulation test on the pump and the power cable. The borehole pump was down in the ground on 32mm MDPE pipework at a level of 48 meters. The borehole pump was extracted and replaced along with the power cable and new pipework all within one afternoon.

Borehole Supply Maintenance in Ramsbottom, Lancashire.

The borehole riser pipe at a property in Ramsbottom, Lancashire was sat in water with a pH of 5.8. The riser pipe was made from steel and the acidic pH attacked it leaving holes in it. The pump kept coming on as it was forcing the water through the holes in the pipework. If left this would cause detrimental damage to the borehole pump, pressure vessel and pressure switch. 

We replaced the pipework with a continuous 32mm MDPE pipe that won't be affected by the acidic pH.

At a farm in Bury, Lancashire the booster pump had failed. The pump had been in constant use with very little maintenance for a massive 60 years before it failed! It was replaced with a variable speed Grundfos Scala 2 booster pump. The scala 2 is a quiet running energy efficient booster pump.

One of the booster pumps from a twin booster set at this super luxury guest house in Pooley Bridge in Cumbria had been damaged beyond repair. The water tank was supplied by a spring supply that had turbid water and deposited solids into the water storage tank. The pump sucked up the solids and blocked the pump burning out the motor and control  head on the lead pump. We attended site and replaced the faulty pump and control head, cleaned and chlorinated the 6000ltr cold water storage tanks and associated pipework, fitted a 20 inch 80micron washable sediment filter onto the supply pipe to the cold water stotage tank.

Borehole Pump Maintenance in Bury, Greater Manchester.

At a farm in Bury, Lancashire the water was supplied from a borehole. The borehole pump was fitted 5 years ago and had not been installed correctly or maintained. The MDPE bladder in the pressure vessel had ruptured. We replaced it with a 100 litre Grundfos pressure vessel.

Also whilst onsite we re-wired the borehole control box as the customer had to manually turn on the pump on and off as the installer had not wired up the pump or pressure switch correctly.
